Candy Game is a candy-factory match-3 puzzle with 30 hand-tuned levels. Swap two neighboring candies to line up three or more of a kind, and fill each level’s factory order before you run out of moves. Play this candy game free in your browser on a computer or phone, with no download or sign-up.
How to play
The board is an 8 by 8 grid (some levels cut corners or holes out of it) filled with six kinds of candy: cherry drops, orange chews, lemon stars, mint gems, blueberry rocks and grape hearts. Each kind has its own shape as well as its own color.
- Swipe a candy toward a neighbor, or tap one candy and then the one next to it, to swap them. A swap only counts if it makes a line of three or more. If it doesn’t, the candies slide back and no move is used.
- Matched candies pop, the candies above fall into the gaps, and new ones drop in from the top. If the falling candies make new lines, they clear too.
- Each level shows its order above the board, with a counter for every goal. You have a fixed number of moves to fill it.
- If the board ever has no possible swap, it shuffles itself. If you sit idle for six seconds, a hint highlights a good move.
Factory orders
Levels mix four kinds of goals, sometimes several at once:
- Collect: pop a set number of one candy.
- Jelly: pink jelly tiles sit under some candies. Clear a candy on a jelly tile to wipe it. Dark double jelly needs two clears.
- Gumdrops: pink gumdrops can’t be swapped or popped. They only fall. Clear the candies underneath until a gumdrop reaches the bottom row, and it rides off on the gumdrop conveyor.
- Wrapper blocks: foil-wrapped blocks get in the way of matches. A match right next to one cracks it, and so does a special candy’s blast. Silver wrappers break in one hit. Gold wrappers, marked 2, take two.
Special candies
- Ribbon candy: match 4 in a line. It has a white ribbon and arrows, and when it is matched or blasted it clears its whole row (or column, if it came from a vertical match).
- Fizz ball: match in an L or T shape. It clears the 3 by 3 square around it.
- Rainbow swirl: match 5 in a line. Swap it with any candy to clear every candy of that kind on the board.
Swap two specials together for a bigger blast. Two Ribbon candies clear a full row and a full column. A Ribbon candy and a Fizz ball clear three rows and three columns. Two Fizz balls clear a 5 by 5 square. A Rainbow swirl swapped with a Ribbon candy or Fizz ball turns every candy of that kind into that special and fires them all, and two swirls swapped together clear every candy on the board.
Scoring and stars
Every candy you pop scores points, multiplied by how deep in a cascade it falls. Making specials, clearing jelly, cracking wrappers and delivering gumdrops all add bonuses. Fill the order with moves to spare and each leftover move fires a Ribbon candy for extra points. Filling the order earns one star. Passing the two marks on the score bar earns the second and third. Stars, best scores and unlocked levels are saved in your browser.
Tips
- Work low on the board. Matches near the bottom move more candies, so they start more cascades. Low matches also pull gumdrops down faster.
- Build specials early. A Ribbon candy fired down a gumdrop’s column can drop it several rows in one move.
- Aim your blasts. Fire specials over the last jelly tiles or a gold wrapper.
- Save a Rainbow swirl for the right color. On a collect order, swap it with the candy you need. On other orders, swap it with whatever kind fills most of the board.
FAQ
Is Candy Game free?
Yes. It’s free to play in your browser with no account, no download and no in-game purchases. You can retry a level as often as you like.
How many levels are there?
There are 30 hand-made levels. Each unlocks when you clear the one before it.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. Swipe or tap to swap. Swiping on the board won’t scroll the page. On a keyboard, the arrow keys move a cursor, Enter picks a candy and an arrow key swaps it, H shows a hint and R restarts the level.
Is this the same as other candy match games?
No. It’s an original game with its own candies, its own specials and factory goals like gumdrop conveyors and wrapper blocks. If you like matching games, try our classic Match 3, or switch to bursting colors in Bubble Pop.
