Tiger Game is a stealth-stalk jungle runner. You play a tiger cub in a game of tag with its sibling: sneak through tall grass, swim across rivers, scramble over rocks and get close enough to pounce without being seen. Play the Tiger Game online free in your browser with no download or sign-up, on a keyboard or a phone’s touch screen. There are 12 levels with stealth and speed goals, plus an endless trail.
How to play
Your sibling starts ahead of you and is It. It trots toward the den, stopping now and then to look back. Catch up and tag it before it gets home.
- Move and sprint: use the Left and Right arrows or A and D to trot. Hold Shift to sprint. On a phone, hold the left or right half of the game, or use the arrow buttons. Double-tap a side and hold to sprint.
- Crouch: press Down, S or C, or tap the Crouch button to switch it on and off. Crouching is slow, but it keeps you hidden.
- Pounce: press Space, Up or W, or tap Pounce. The cub leaps forward about three body lengths. Landing on your sibling during a pounce is a tag. Walking into it without pouncing doesn’t count. It notices you, and that counts as being spotted.
- Swim: paddle across rivers. You can’t crouch or pounce in the water, and some currents push against you.
- Climb: walk into a rock and keep pushing to climb up its face. Let go and you slide back down.
The Seen meter
The bar at the top shows how visible you are while your sibling is in sight. Speed fills it, and cover matters:
- Tall grass hides you best. Trotting is safe there, but sprinting slowly fills the meter.
- Open dirt is risky. Trotting fills the meter in under two seconds, so crouch-walk across.
- Water half hides you, so a long swim still fills the meter a little.
- Rock tops are the most exposed, and climbing also shows.
Standing still drains the meter, and so does staying out of sight range. When a question mark appears above your sibling, it is looking back and anything you do counts extra. If the meter fills, you are spotted: your sibling dashes ahead and the spot counts against the level’s limit. After a tag it runs off too, so you stalk it again.
Levels and the endless trail
Each level asks for one to three tags. You lose if your sibling reaches the den first, or if you are spotted more often than the level allows. Level 7 is a speed level with a 30-second limit. Level 8 is a pure stealth level where a single spot fails it. Later levels add strong currents, taller rocks and tighter limits. Clearing a level unlocks the next, and best times and scores are saved in your browser.
On the endless trail your sibling gets quicker after every tag. The run ends after three spots or if you fall so far behind that you lose the trail. Tags score 100 points each, plus points for distance.
Tips
- Sprint while you are out of sight. The meter only rises while your sibling can see you, so close the gap fast when it is far ahead. Then slow down.
- Freeze on the look-back. When the question mark appears, stop or crouch and wait for it to turn away.
- Pounce from a little way back. Your sibling keeps walking while you are in the air, so start the leap from about three body lengths behind it.
- Plan around rocks. You can’t pounce through a rock, so climb when your sibling isn’t looking.
Tiger skins and real tiger facts
Choose a Bengal, Siberian (Amur), Sumatran or Malayan coat on the start screen. Each one shows a fact taken from Wikipedia, for example that the Sumatran tiger is one of the smallest tigers. The strip under the game cycles through more facts from the Tiger article: tigers are powerful swimmers that can cross rivers as wide as 8 km, cubs under 16 months old may climb trees routinely, and young tigers bond through play fighting and practice stalking. No prey animals appear in the game.
FAQ
Does it work on phones and Chromebooks?
Yes. On a phone or tablet, hold the sides of the game or use the on-screen buttons. Touching the game won’t scroll the page. On a Chromebook or laptop, use the arrow keys or WASD.
Can I pause?
Press P or Esc, or tap the pause button. The game also pauses when you switch tabs.
Why did my sibling run away?
Either your Seen meter filled up or you bumped into it without pouncing. Both count as a spot.
