Tractor Game is a side-view tractor driving game with two modes. In Tractor Pull you drag a heavy weight sled down a dirt track, working the throttle and the gears while keeping the front wheels on the ground. In Hay Haul you tow a trailer stacked with loose hay bales over hilly farm tracks and try to get enough of them to the barn. You can play this tractor game online free in your browser with no download, on a keyboard, a mouse or a phone’s touch screen.

How to play Tractor Pull

The goal is a full pull: drag the sled all 300 feet to the yellow line. There are 10 classes, from Garden Class up to Open Modified, and each one has a heavier sled. A full pull unlocks the next class.

  • Throttle: hold Right or D, the Throttle button, or the right half of the game.
  • The sled gets heavier as you go: its weight box slides forward toward the pan at the front, so the drag keeps growing the whole way down the track. Speed carried from early in the pull helps you through the heavy end.
  • Shift in the green: press Up, W or Space (or the up Gear button, or tap the left half of the game) to shift up. The tachometer in the corner has a green band. Shifting before it bogs the engine down, and if you wait too long the rev limiter cuts the power. Down or S shifts down when the engine is laboring.
  • Keep the front wheels down: too much throttle in a low gear lifts the nose. A wheelie costs traction, and if the nose keeps climbing the tractor flips back and the pull is over. The Front Lift meter and a warning show when the front is up. Let off the throttle and it settles back down.

A pull that stops short still scores its distance. Each class gives up to three stars: one for a full pull, one for making every upshift in the green band (at least two of them), and one for beating the par time.

How to play Hay Haul

Drive the tractor and trailer to the red barn at the end of the route. Hold Right or D (or the Gas button) to drive, and Left or A (or Brake) to slow down. From a stop, Brake reverses. There are 8 routes with hills, ditches and ruts.

  • Loose bales: two rows of unstrapped bales sit on an open trailer with a headboard at the front and only a low lip at the back.
  • Bumps: taken slowly, ruts and bumps are harmless. At speed, the bales bounce, and a bottom bale that hops over the back lip is gone. When a bottom bale is lost, the bale stacked on it drops into the gap or falls off.
  • Hills: accelerating hard on a climb slides the top row toward the back of the trailer. Once a top bale slides past the end of the stack, it falls.
  • Goal: each route needs a minimum number of bales at the barn, shown as Goal in the corner. If fewer bales than that are left on the trailer, the run ends.

Stars: goal met, every bale delivered, and par time beaten.

Garage upgrades

Both modes earn points that you spend in the Garage. Each upgrade has three levels:

  • Engine: more pulling power in every gear, plus more speed and climbing power in Hay Haul.
  • Tires: more grip, so the wheels spin less on the pull track and on hills.
  • Ballast weights: front weights that hold the nose down and add weight for grip, so you can put more throttle down before a wheelie starts.

The base tractor can full-pull the early classes, but the top classes need upgrades.

Tips

  • Feather the start. First gear has more power than the front end can hold down, so ease the throttle until you are rolling.
  • Drop a gear late in the pull. When the RPM sinks under the heavy sled, shifting down gives more force for the last few feet.

FAQ

Is Tractor Game free?

Yes. It is free to play with no account and nothing to install. Progress saves in your browser. Press P or Esc to pause; switching tabs pauses too.

Does it work on phones and Chromebooks?

Yes. On a phone or tablet, use the buttons under the game, or hold the right half of the game for throttle. Touching the game area won’t scroll the page. On a laptop, use the arrow keys or WASD.

Why did my tractor flip over?

You kept the throttle down while the front wheels were rising. Let off as soon as the Front Lift meter climbs. Ballast weights from the Garage also help hold the front down.
