Nail Game

Nail Game is a nail salon game where you soak, file, paint and decorate the five nails on a cartoon hand. In Salon mode, each customer shows you a design card, and you are scored on how closely your nails match it. In Free design mode you can make any look you like and save it as a picture. You can play Nail Game online free in your browser with no download, using a mouse, a keyboard or a phone’s touch screen.

How to play

Every manicure follows the same seven steps, shown as numbered buttons under the hand. A step turns green once it is done.

• 1 Soak: dip the hand in warm, bubbly water to soften the cuticles.
• 2 File: pick round, square, oval or almond, then rub back and forth across a nail’s tip. A green bar fills as you file, and the nail takes its new shape when the bar is full.
• 3 Base: tap each nail, or press All nails, for a clear base coat.
• 4 Color: choose from 12 polish colors, such as Bubblegum, Cherry, Mint, Sky and Gold. The brush follows your drag in three sizes, and Dip & tap fills a whole nail in one tap. If polish lands on the skin, wipe it away with the Swab, which never removes polish from the nail itself.
• 5 Design: pick stripes, dots, a French tip or a gradient, choose its color, then tap a nail or press All nails.
• 6 Gems: tap a nail to place a star, heart, flower, round gem, diamond gem or dino footprint where you tap, up to three per nail. Peel off removes one.
• 7 Top coat: seal each nail with a shiny top coat.

Press Zoom (or X) to paint one nail up close, and use the arrow buttons or keys to move between nails. Undo (or Z) takes back your last action.

Salon mode and scoring

A salon day has eight customers. Each one shows a design card with five nails, from the pinky to the thumb, plus a written request such as “Round nails, Mint on every nail, French tip in Snow on all.” Early customers want a single color. Later ones add a pattern, an accent color on the ring finger, alternating colors and gems on chosen fingers.

When the nails are ready, press Finish nails. Your score out of 100 comes from five checks on every nail:

• Shape: the nail must be filed to the shape on the card.
• Color: the right color has to cover nearly all of the nail. Gaps or a different color lower this part quickly.
• Pattern: the right pattern scores fully in the right color and partly in another color.
• Gems: the right gem on the right nail. Extra gems on a nail that should be plain cost a little.
• Clean skin: any polish left on the skin around the nail lowers this part.

A bare nail earns nothing, so paint every one. Soaking, a base coat on every nail and a top coat on every nail add a few more points. A score of 90 or more earns three stars, 70 earns two and 45 earns one. Customers tip about a tenth of your score in dollars, with a $5 bonus for three stars. Your tips, best day and place in the current day are saved in your browser.

Free design

Free design has every tool with no card to match. Change the skin tone, start a new hand, and press Save PNG to download a picture of your nails. Your design is kept in your browser for next time.

Tips

• File before you paint. Filing a nail shorter removes any polish beyond the new tip, so shape first.
• Use Dip & tap for solid color. It covers the whole nail without touching the skin.
• Zoom in before you finish. Brush strokes that slip past the nail edge are easy to miss on the whole hand.
• Do not skip the quick steps. Soak, base coat and top coat are worth up to 15 points.

Is Nail Game free?

Yes. It is free to play with no account and nothing to install. Choose Salon day or Free design to start.

Does it work on phones and tablets?

Yes. Drag with a finger to paint and file, and tap to coat nails and place gems. Painting on the hand will not scroll the page. Zoom in for the smaller nails.

What happens at the end of a day?

After the eighth customer you see your tips for the day and your average score. A record day is saved, and the next day brings new customers.
