Turkey Escape is a cheerful turkey game set on a farm in late November. You are a clever turkey who would rather skip the town’s turkey parade costume contest, so a friendly but determined farmer, Biscuit the farm dog and the parade marshal are trying to catch you. Grab every corn cob, hide in hay bales, shut gates behind you and lead chasers through the mud, then slip out the red barn door. You can play this turkey game online free in your browser with no download, on a keyboard, a mouse or a phone’s touch screen.

How to play

Each level is a small farm map seen from above. The turkey keeps walking in one direction until it hits something, like a classic maze chase. Press the next direction early and it turns at the first opening.

  • Move: use the arrow keys or WASD, swipe or tap the board on the side you want to go, or use the on-screen pad. Space or the pad’s stop button stops the turkey.
  • Collect the corn: the barn door is locked and shows how many cobs are left. Pick up the last one and the door opens and starts to glow.
  • Escape: walk through the open barn door to clear the level. If a chaser reaches you first, you are caught and can try again straight away.

The chasers

Chasers wander until they spot you, shown by a red exclamation mark. When they lose sight of you, they walk to where they last saw you, look around with a question mark, then go back to wandering.

  • The farmer is the slowest chaser and can see you up to six tiles away, as long as nothing is in the way.
  • Biscuit the dog is quicker and can sniff you out from three tiles away even through walls. After about five seconds of chasing, Biscuit gets tired and sits down for a short rest.
  • The parade marshal joins in the town square and moves a little faster than the farmer.

The turkey is faster than every chaser, so the danger is getting boxed into a dead end or squeezed between two of them.

Hay, gates and mud

  • Hay bales: walk into one and the turkey stops and hides, with only its tail feathers poking out. Chasers can’t see you or follow you in. Press any direction to leave.
  • Gates: a gate swings shut behind you for five seconds. You can still use it, but chasers must find another way round.
  • Mud puddles: the turkey is light on its feet, but chasers slow right down when they wade through mud.
  • Line of sight: fences, pumpkins, stalks, trees, stalls and hay block a chaser’s view, but you can be spotted across the duck pond.

Levels, stars and Corn Rush

There are 10 levels, two each in the pumpkin patch, corn maze, apple orchard, duck pond and town square. Clearing a level unlocks the next. Finish within the par time for three stars, or a little slower for two. Your progress and best stars are saved in your browser.

Corn Rush is the endless mode. Cobs keep appearing while a clock counts down. Each cob scores a point and adds three seconds; golden cobs score three and add five. Biscuit joins at 5 points, the marshal at 12, and chasers speed up as your score climbs. The run ends when time runs out or you are caught, and your best score is saved.

Tips

  • Plan your corn route. Collect the cobs far from the exit first, so your last cob is close to the barn door.
  • Use loops, not dead ends. Running around a ring of paths keeps you ahead of a slower chaser.
  • Gate them out. When a chaser follows you through a gate, it closes in their face and buys you a few seconds.
  • Hide, then slip away. If you are cornered near a hay bale, duck in and wait until the chaser wanders off before you come out.
