Factory Game is a small automation puzzle about building production lines. You lay conveyor belts across a factory floor, add machines along the way and turn raw logs, ore, dough and plastic pellets into the goods on each order, then send them to the shipping dock. Play this factory building game free in your browser, with no download or sign-up, on a computer, tablet or phone.
How to play
Each level gives you a floor of 8 by 6 squares with fixed sources, a dock and a few rocks. Your job is to connect them with a line that makes exactly what the order asks for.
- Build: pick a part from the toolbar and tap an empty square. It faces the way the arrow on the Turn button points. Tap a placed part again with the same tool to turn it. With Belt selected you can drag to lay a whole line, and each belt turns to follow your finger or mouse.
- Belts move items one square per tick. They take items from behind and from either side, so a belt can turn a corner or join another line.
- Machines take an item from any side except the front, work on it for a few ticks and push the result out of the front. A machine refuses items it has no recipe for.
- Run starts the line. Items slide along the belts, machines show a progress bar and the status line counts what has been shipped. Speed switches to 4x fast-forward, and Stop clears the items off the floor so you can change the line.
- Win by shipping the whole order before the shift ends. If time runs out, the game shows what you shipped and you can fix the line.
Machines and recipes
- Cutter (2 ticks): log to plank, plank to toy block, metal plate to gear.
- Press (3 ticks): ingot to metal plate, dough to flat dough, plastic pellets to toy boat.
- Oven (4 ticks): dough to bread, flat dough to cookie, ore to ingot.
- Red and Blue paint (2 ticks): color a toy block or a toy boat.
- Packer (2 ticks): waits for two of the same item and boxes them.
- Splitter: takes items from behind and sends them out to its left and right in turn.
- Merger: takes items from behind and both sides in turn and sends them forward.

Stars, budget and jams
Every level has a part budget and a par. You earn one star for shipping the order, one for using no more parts than par and one for finishing within the time par, counted in ticks. Some levels also cap a single part, such as one cutter or one red painter. If an item cannot move for 8 ticks, its square flashes red as a jam. That usually means a belt points the wrong way, runs into a rock or carries an item the next machine or the dock will not take.
Tips
- Read the recipe chain first. A red toy block needs two cuts and a coat of paint, so plan three machines in a row before you lay a single belt.
- Machines can feed machines. A cutter can push straight into a second cutter or a painter with no belt between them, which saves parts.
- Split slow work. When pellets arrive every tick and a press needs three, a splitter feeding two presses nearly doubles your output and helps you beat the time par.
- Sort mixed belts with a splitter. Items that arrive in turn leave a splitter in turn, so logs and ore can go to different machines.
Sandbox
Sandbox mode unlocks every part with no budget, including sources and docks. Tap a placed source with the Source tool to switch it between logs, ore, dough and plastic pellets. Your sandbox floor, your level layouts and your stars are saved in your browser.
