Fruit Game puts you behind the counter of a small fruit stand. Every customer orders a smoothie by color and taste, and your job is to blend fruit until the mix matches. Play this fruit game free online in your browser, with no download or sign-up, on desktop or on your phone. Fruit sort mode adds calm crate-sorting puzzles.

How to play the smoothie stand

A season runs for 30 orders over six days, five customers a day. Each order shows a target color swatch and three taste bars: sweet, tart and thick. The white marker on each bar is what the customer wants.

• Add fruit. Tap or click a fruit on the shelf, or drag it onto the blender. The blender holds four scoops to start.
• Watch the mix. The mix swatch, the taste bars and the color difference (ΔE) update with every scoop, along with a match score out of 100.
• Fix mistakes. Tap any scoop under the bars to take it out, or use Undo and Empty.
• Serve. A match of 90 or more earns 3 stars, 72 or more earns 2 stars and 50 or more earns 1 star. Anything lower earns nothing and the stand loses one of its three hearts. Lose all three and the stand closes early.

How the color mixing works

Every fruit has a color and sweet, tart and thick values. The blender averages the colors of all the scoops in OKLab, a color space built so that equal steps look like equal changes to the eye. Two scoops of one fruit and one of another count two to one, so ratios matter more than the total number of scoops.

The color score uses ΔE, the distance between your mix and the target in that same space. Color counts for 60 percent of the match and taste for 40 percent.

Days, coins and upgrades

You start with strawberry, banana, orange and blueberry. Kiwi and mango arrive on day 2, pineapple and lime on day 3, watermelon and raspberry on day 4, and grape and coconut on day 5. Every served smoothie pays 8 coins, plus a tip of 2 coins for 2 stars or 5 for 3 stars.

After each day the shop opens. The bigger blender (45 coins) holds six scoops for finer ratios, and later orders may use up to six. The ice machine (30 coins) adds ice, which lightens and thins a mix, and earns 2 extra coins on every smoothie. The yogurt tub (35 coins) adds yogurt, which is creamy, tangy and very thick. Every order is generated from the fruit and upgrades you have, so each one can always be matched at 3 stars.

Fruit sort mode

Fruit sort is a relaxed puzzle with 15 levels. Fruit is mixed up across wooden crates that hold four pieces each, with two empty crates to work with. Tap a crate, then tap another to move its top fruit across. A fruit can only go into an empty crate or onto the same kind of fruit, and a run of matching fruit moves together if there is room. Sort every kind into its own crate to finish the level. Levels grow from three kinds of fruit to six, and each one is checked by a solver. Undo and Restart are free, and your best move count is saved.

Tips

• Start from the strongest color. Pick the fruit closest to the target swatch, then add one scoop of something else and watch which way ΔE moves.
• Fix thickness with banana or ice. Banana, mango and yogurt thicken a smoothie. Orange, lime, watermelon and ice thin it out.
• Buy the ice machine early. Its 2 coin bonus on every smoothie pays for itself within three days.
• In Fruit sort, keep an empty crate free for as long as you can. It is your only space to park fruit while you dig.
