Moonbrew Potion Shop is a cozy witch game about running a little potion shop on a moonlit street. A cartoon witch stands behind a bubbling cauldron above a shelf of ten made-up ingredients, and cats, ghosts, pumpkins and owls come to the counter for potions. Add the right ingredients in the right order, stir the right number of times, and serve. Play this witch game free in your browser, with no download or sign-up, on a computer, tablet or phone.
How to play
Every customer shows their order in a speech bubble: the potion’s name and a dot in its finished color. Under the cauldron, a recipe card lists each step from left to right.
- Tap the ingredients on the shelf in the order the card shows.
- After the last ingredient, tap the cauldron to stir. The swirl icons on the card show how many stirs the potion needs, and the brew shifts toward its finished color with every stir.
- When the cauldron sparkles, the potion is ready. Press Serve to hand it over and collect your coins.
- A wrong ingredient, an ingredient added after stirring has started, or one stir too many turns the brew murky brown. Press Empty for fresh water and start that potion again.
- Serving a murky, unfinished or empty cauldron counts as a miss, and the customer leaves.
The seven days
The game is split into seven shop days, and each one adds something new.
- Days 1 and 2 have no time limit. You learn Giggle Tonic, Sunny Sip and Froggy Fizz.
- Days 3 and 4 bring timed orders. Each customer has a patience bar that drains from green to red, and if it empties they walk away. Moonlight Milk and Pumpkin Glow join your book.
- Days 5 to 7 add mystery potions. These aren’t in your book, so the recipe card shows question marks. The first ingredient is given as a hint, and the target color in the speech bubble tells you roughly what goes in, because a potion’s color is a blend of its ingredients’ colors. Try an ingredient: a check mark means you found the step (the card remembers it that day), and a murky brew means empty and try again. Serve a mystery potion correctly and its recipe is written into your book for good.
To pass a day you need to serve at least 60 percent of its customers. One star for passing, two stars for no more than one miss, and three stars for no misses and only a few murky brews. Passing a day unlocks the next, and clearing Day 1 unlocks Endless mode.
Endless mode and the shop
Endless mode sends customers forever, picked from every recipe you have discovered. Every order is timed, and patience gets shorter as you serve more. Three misses end the shift, and your best count of potions served is saved.
Each potion pays 10 coins plus a tip: up to 5 more for serving quickly on timed orders, and 10 extra for a mystery potion. Coins go into a wallet that carries over between days. Spend them in the Shop on cosmetic hats (pumpkin, starry, flower crown and moon) and cauldrons (copper, teal and gold). They are purely cosmetic.
Controls
Tap an ingredient to add it and tap the cauldron to stir, with Serve, Empty, Book and Pause buttons below the shop. On a keyboard, 1 to 9 and 0 add ingredients in shelf order, S or Space stirs, Enter serves, E empties, B opens the recipe book (orders wait while it is open) and P or Esc pauses. Your stars, coins, recipes, cosmetics and endless best are saved in your browser.
Tips
- Count your stirs. Pumpkin Glow and Ember Cocoa need three. Watch the check marks rather than guessing.
- Use color to narrow mysteries. A bright yellow target probably has Star Dust in it, and a pale one likely includes Cloud Fluff. Try the likeliest ingredient first.
- Stir mystery potions one at a time. The stir count is hidden, but the cauldron sparkles the moment the potion is complete, so stop stirring as soon as it does.
