Monster Game is a cozy collecting and mixing game with a musical twist. You start with three cute baby monsters, combine pairs in the Mixing Lab to discover new species, and place them on Monster Island, where every monster adds its own part to the island song. Play this monster game free online in your browser, with no download or sign-up, on desktop or on your phone.

How to play

Your first monsters are Emberling (fire), Dropling (water) and Sprigling (leaf). From those three you can reach all 35 species in the Monsterpedia.

  • Mix in the Lab. Open the Lab tab, tap two monsters you own (the same one twice is allowed) and press Mix. Each mix costs 10 coins. If the pair is a recipe, you get that species; if not, the potion fizzles.
  • Recipes never change. Every species has exactly one fixed recipe, and the order of the two monsters does not matter. Pairs you have already tried are remembered, so the Lab tells you whether a pair is a known recipe or a dud.
  • Build the island band. Tap one of the eight spots on Monster Island and pick a monster to place it. Each monster plays one part: kick drum, clap, hi-hat, bass line, soft chords, arpeggio, plucked melody, lead melody or bell chimes. Every part loops on the same two-bar beat at 100 BPM and uses the same five-note scale, so any group of monsters sounds good together. Monsters bounce in time with their own notes.
  • Earn coins. Monsters on the island earn coins every second. Higher-tier monsters earn more. Your island keeps earning while you are away, for up to 4 hours, and a welcome-back screen shows what you collected.
  • Feed and level up. Tap a placed monster and press Feed. A snack costs 10 coins times the monster’s level. Each level up to 10 makes the monster bigger, happier and worth more coins per second.
  • Decorate. The Shop sells eight island decorations, from a palm tree to a lighthouse. Each one adds 5% to your coin income.

The game saves automatically in your browser. Discover all 35 monsters to complete the Monsterpedia, then keep your band playing or start a new island from the Shop tab.

The Monsterpedia

The Pedia tab lists every species. Monsters you have not found show as dark numbered silhouettes. Tap one to see a hint line: it names the parents you already own and gives the element of any parent you have not found yet, such as “mix a ??? (air) monster with Emberling”. Five species are secret, and their entries give no recipe hint at all, so you will have to experiment.

Tips

  • Fill the island early. Coins only come from monsters on the island, so place every new monster you discover until all eight spots are full.
  • Try self-mixes. Several early species come from mixing a monster with itself. They are cheap discoveries at the start.
  • Read the hints in order. Silhouettes are numbered roughly by tier, so the lowest-numbered unknown entry is usually the one you can make next.
  • Swap for income, swap for sound. Higher-tier monsters earn more, but you might prefer a mix of drums, bass and melody for the song. Send a monster home and place another any time; levels are kept.
  • Feed your best earners. Each level adds 30% to a monster’s base income, so leveling a high-tier monster pays back fastest.
  • Buy cheap decorations first. Every decoration gives the same +5%, so the palm tree and flower patch are the best value.

FAQ

Is Monster Game free?

Yes. It is free to play in your browser with no account, no download and no ads inside the game.

How many monsters are there?

There are 35 species: three starters, 27 that have recipe hints in the Monsterpedia, and five secret ones.

Do the monsters disappear when I mix them?

No. Mixing never uses up your monsters. It only costs coins, and the parents stay in your collection.

Why does the music always sound in tune?

Every monster’s part is written in the same key, C major pentatonic, and locked to one shared tempo grid. Adding or removing a monster only adds or removes a layer.

Does it keep earning when I close the page?

Yes, for up to 4 hours. When you return, the coins your island monsters earned while you were away are added, up to that cap.

Is my progress saved?

Your discoveries, island, levels, decorations and coins are saved in your browser on this device. Clearing site data erases them.
