Multiplication Game is a dino adventure for learning the 1 to 12 times tables. Help a baby dinosaur jump obstacles, build arrays on a grid, beat a boss dino for each table and watch your mastery map fill in. It’s a free multiplication game you can play online in your browser, with no download or sign-up, on a computer, tablet or phone.
How to play
Start by tapping the tables you want to practice. Pick any mix from 1 to 12, or use All or 2, 5, 10. Answers go in on the big on-screen number pad, so there’s no typing on a phone, and number keys, Backspace and Enter work too. Press Go to check.
- Egg Hatch Run: your baby dino hatches and runs. Each rock, fern or log carries a question. Answer right and the dino jumps it and hatches an egg. A wrong answer is only a stumble: the right answer shows and the run carries on. Every run is 15 obstacles long. Hatch 6 eggs for 1 star, 10 for 2 and 13 or more for 3.
- Array Builder: you get a fact such as 4 × 6. Drag across the 12 by 12 grid to build a rectangle with 4 rows of 6, then press Check my array. Building it turned around (6 rows of 4) also counts, because it has the same number of squares. Count the squares, then find every factor pair of the total: type a number of rows and the squares rearrange into equal rows, with any leftovers in red. Each round has three arrays.
- Boss Battles: there’s a boss dino for each table from 2 to 12. Every right answer is a hit, and 12 hits win the battle. A miss, or running out of the 10 seconds on a question, costs one of your three hearts, and the fact you missed comes back later in the battle. Win with all three hearts for 3 stars.
- Mastery Map: a heat map of all 144 facts in the 12 by 12 table. Switch between Mastery, Accuracy and Speed. Tap a square for its record, average time and box.
How the game picks your questions
Every fact has its own place in a set of five Leitner boxes, a classic flashcard method for spaced repetition. A fact you’ve never tried has no box. Your first right answer puts it in box 2, and each right answer after that moves it up one box. Box 5 means mastered. A wrong answer sends the fact back to box 1.
Facts in low boxes come up much more often than facts you know well, and each box sets how long a fact waits before it’s due again: one question for box 1, then 3, 6, 12 and 25. Due facts and facts you often miss get an extra boost, so Egg Hatch Run and Array Builder focus on your hardest facts, from the tables you picked only. Boss Battles always go through all 12 facts of that boss’s table.
Untimed mode
Tap Timer on on the home screen to switch to Untimed mode. In Egg Hatch Run the obstacle stops and waits until you answer, and in Boss Battles the 10-second timer goes away. The boss picker has the same switch.
Parent and teacher view
Open the Mastery Map and tap Parent / teacher for a table-by-table summary: facts tried, percentage right, average time, facts mastered and boss stars, plus the facts to practice next. Run on weakest facts starts an Egg Hatch Run that focuses on those facts. Progress is saved in this browser only, and Reset progress clears it after a second tap.
Tips
- Learn a few tables at a time. Start with 2, 5 and 10, then add 3, 4 and 11 before 6, 7, 8, 9 and 12.
- Hunt factor pairs in order. Try 1 row, 2 rows, 3 rows and so on. When pairs start repeating turned around, you’re done.
- Check the map. Red and orange squares are next to train. Keep playing until they turn green.
