Which dinosaur are you? This free personality quiz matches you with one of 12 prehistoric animals in about two minutes. Answer 12 quick questions about how you spend a Saturday, what you pack and how you handle an argument, and the quiz tells you which dinosaur fits you best. It is a playful quiz made for fun. It is not a psychological test, and your result says nothing scientific about you.
The 12 possible results
- T. rex, the bold leader
- Triceratops, the loyal protector
- Velociraptor, the clever strategist
- Stegosaurus, the calm creative
- Brachiosaurus, the big-picture dreamer
- Ankylosaurus, the unshakable rock
- Parasaurolophus, the social star
- Pachycephalosaurus, the headstrong go-getter
- Spinosaurus, the fearless adventurer
- Diplodocus, the gentle giant
- Iguanodon, the handy problem-solver
- Pteranodon, the free spirit. Pteranodon was a pterosaur, a flying reptile, and not a dinosaur, so it appears as an honorary result and the card says so.
How to take the quiz
- Press Start the quiz. The first question appears right away.
- Tap one of the four answers, or press 1 to 4 on a keyboard. The quiz moves straight to the next question.

If you close the page partway through, the quiz remembers where you were and offers a Resume button next time.
What is on your result card
Every result has an original illustration drawn in the same style as our dinosaur guide, a nickname such as The Loyal Protector, and a blurb we wrote just for fun. Below that are two or three real facts about the animal, such as what its name means, when it lived, how long it was or where its fossils were found. These facts are not made up for the quiz. They come from the same Wikipedia-checked data we use in Dinosaur Names, and the card links to the Wikipedia article for that animal. Where a pronunciation is listed in that data, the card shows it too.
Press Share your result to save a square PNG image with your dinosaur, its nickname, the illustration and one fact. You can post it or send it to friends. Press Learn more in Dinosaur Names to open the full guide, where you can look up your dinosaur and many more.
Retakes and kids mode
The quiz has 30 questions in total and each round uses 12 of them. Eight of every new round come from questions you did not see last time, and the answer order is shuffled, so a retake feels fresh and may give you a different dinosaur. The scoring is balanced: every dinosaur gets the same number of chances across the 30 questions, so no result is rigged to come up more often than the others.
Turn on Kids mode for simpler wording. The questions, answers and blurbs switch to shorter sentences and everyday words, which suits younger players and classrooms. The facts stay the same.
The My results tab keeps a tally of every dinosaur you have been, with a small bar chart and a list of recent results. Everything stays in your browser on this device.
Tips
- Answer with your first instinct. Overthinking each question tends to blur the result.
- Take it with friends or family and compare cards. The runner-up matches show who is a close second.
- Got a dinosaur you did not expect? Read its facts, then open Dinosaur Names to learn more about it.
FAQ
Is this personality quiz accurate?
No, and it is not meant to be. It is an entertainment quiz with answers we matched to dinosaurs for fun. It is not based on any psychological model.
Are the dinosaur facts real?
Yes. Each fact on a result card is built directly from the fields in our Wikipedia-checked dinosaur data, such as name meaning, time period, length, fossil locations and who named it.
Why is Pteranodon in a dinosaur quiz?
Many people think of Pteranodon as a flying dinosaur, but it was a pterosaur. We kept it as an honorary result for free spirits, and the card clearly labels it as a flying reptile that was not a dinosaur.
Can I get a different result if I retake it?
Yes. Each round mixes in new questions, so your answers and your dinosaur can change.
Is it free and safe for kids?
Yes. It runs in any modern browser with no account or download, and Kids mode makes the wording easier.
