Brain Game is a quick daily workout made of six short mini-games, each aimed at a different everyday thinking skill: attention, focus, memory, numbers, words and planning. Play it free in your browser with no download or sign-up, on a laptop, tablet or phone. Every game lasts 60 to 90 seconds, so a full three-game workout takes about four minutes.

It is meant to be fun practice. Brain Game is not a scientific, medical or IQ test, and your scores do not measure intelligence or “brain age”. They only show how you are doing compared with your own earlier games.

How the daily workout works

Press Start workout and the game picks three of the six mini-games for today. The mix is chosen from the date, so everyone who opens the game on the same day gets the same three games, and tomorrow brings a new combination. You can also tap any game on the main screen to play it on its own as often as you like.

After each game you see your score, the share of answers you got right, and whether the next round will be harder or easier. Correct answers in a row build a streak multiplier of up to four times, and one mistake resets it.

The six mini-games

  • Speed Match (60 s): a symbol appears. For each new one, answer whether it is the same as the symbol right before it. This is a one-back memory task. Higher levels add more shapes and mixed colors.
  • Color Word (60 s): a color name is printed in colored ink. Tap the button for the ink color, not the word. Mismatched pairs, like BLUE in red ink, score extra (the Stroop effect).
  • Pattern Recall (90 s): some cells on a grid light up for a moment. Tap the same cells from memory. Every correct pattern adds another cell, and the grid grows from 3 by 3 up to 6 by 6. A wrong tap makes the next pattern a step smaller.
  • Quick Math (60 s): solve a short chain such as 7, then +5, then times 2, then minus 3, working left to right. Longer chains appear as your level rises.
  • Word Unscramble (75 s): rebuild a jumbled everyday word from its letter tiles. Words start at four letters and grow to seven. Skip a word you are stuck on, but it breaks your streak.
  • Path Planner (90 s): draw a route from S to G through a small maze without crossing walls, within a move budget. Reaching G by the shortest possible route scores full points and a longer route scores less. Tap or drag across the cells, or use the arrow keys.

Your history and best scores

Your best score and current level for each game are saved in your browser, along with a day-by-day record. The History tab draws a 30-day bar chart of your points per day, and you can switch it to a single game to see your best score for that game each day. Nothing is sent anywhere, so clearing your browser data resets it.

Tips for better scores

  • Accuracy first, then speed. The streak multiplier rewards long runs of correct answers, so a steady pace usually beats rushing.
  • In Color Word, look at the ink, not the letters.
  • In Pattern Recall, look for shapes. Grouping lit cells into lines, corners or letters is easier than remembering each one.
  • In Path Planner, plan before you draw. Trace the route with your eyes from G back to S, then draw it in one go.
  • Pause when you need to. P or Esc pauses any game, and switching tabs pauses it automatically.

If you enjoy these, try Sequence Memory for a longer memory challenge, or test your speed with the Reaction Time Test.

FAQ

Is Brain Game free?

Yes. It is completely free, with no account, no download and no ads inside the game.

Does Brain Game measure my IQ or brain age?

No. It is a set of games for fun and practice, not a scientific, medical or diagnostic tool. Scores only compare you with your own earlier results.

Does everyone get the same daily workout?

The daily workout is picked from the date, so everyone gets the same three games on the same day. You can still play any of the six games at any time.

Does the difficulty change?

Yes. Each game keeps its own level from 1 to 10 that rises when you do well and drops when a game goes badly, so the challenge stays about right for you.
