Laser Tag Game is a top-down take on arena laser tag. You and three computer teammates on the Blue team face four players on the Orange team in a neon arena full of walls, glowing pillars and speed ramps. Everyone carries a tagger that fires a harmless beam of light, and a player who gets tagged is down for a few seconds before jumping back in. You can play this laser tag game online free in your browser with no download, using a keyboard and mouse or a phone’s touch screen.
How to play
You are the player with the yellow ring, starting near the Blue base at the bottom of the arena. The Orange base is at the top. Each base has a glowing beacon and a dashed circle around it, which is your charging zone.
- Move: use WASD or the arrow keys. On a phone or tablet, put a finger down anywhere on the arena and drag, and a joystick ring appears under it.
- Aim and tag: with a mouse, point at a spot and click to fire your beam toward it. On touch, tap a spot on the arena to fire that way, even with a second finger while steering. Space and the TAG button fire at the nearest rival you can see, and at the other team’s beacon when no rival is in view.
- Get tagged, get back in: a beam that reaches a rival flashes their vest and puts them down for 3 seconds. They can’t move or fire while down, then come back with a short shield. The same goes for you.
- Watch your charge: each beam uses one of your 12 charges, and your tagger needs a short cooldown between beams. Charge only refills while you stand inside your own base circle, so when the bar turns red, head home.
- Use the arena: walls and pillars block beams in both directions, so you can duck behind them. Yellow ramps with arrows are speed ramps that make you move faster while you are on them.
Game modes
- Team Battle: a 2-minute match, 4 against 4. Every tag scores 1 point for your team, and a beam that hits the other team’s beacon scores 3. The team with more points when time runs out wins.
- Beacon Raid: the beacon is the target. The first team to hit the other team’s beacon 5 times wins. After each hit, that beacon goes dark for 4 seconds and can’t be scored again until it lights back up. If no team gets to 5 within 3 minutes, more beacon hits wins, then more tags.
- Free-for-all: all eight players are on their own for 2 minutes. Both bases are open charging zones for everyone, and the player with the most tags at the end takes first place.
Pick one of six arenas from the menu: Neon Grid, Twin Towers, Zigzag, Pillar Hall, Crossfire and Orbit. Easy, Normal or Hard sets how quickly and accurately the other team aims; your teammates stay the same.
When a match ends you get a results table with every player’s tags, accuracy and times down, plus beacon hits in the team modes. Your career stats are saved in your browser.
Tips
- Don’t spray beams. With only 12 charges and a refill that happens at home, every missed beam means another trip back to base.
- Hit them when they come back in. A player who just got back up has a shield for a moment, and they lose it as soon as they fire. Hold your beam until the shield is gone.
- Peek around corners. Step out from behind a wall, fire, and step back. CPU players need a moment to react.
- Raid from the side. A short wall sits in front of each beacon, so a beam fired straight up the middle hits the wall. Swing around to the left or right of the wall to get a clear line.
FAQ
Is this laser tag game free?
Yes. It is free to play in your browser with no account and nothing to install.
Is there any fighting in it?
No. It plays like real arena laser tag. The taggers fire harmless light beams, and a tagged player’s vest just flashes while they sit out for 3 seconds.
Can I play it on a phone or Chromebook?
Yes. On a phone or tablet, drag to move and tap to tag. The arena won’t scroll the page while you play. On a Chromebook or laptop, use WASD with the mouse to aim.
Can I pause?
Press P or Esc, or tap the II button. It also pauses when you switch tabs.
