Hot Dog Game puts you in the aisle of a cartoon ballpark as the hot dog vendor. Fans in the stands raise their hands with an order, you build it on your tray, and then you toss it up the rows to the right seat. Clean catches earn tips and cheers. How to play

Each inning lasts 60 seconds. Your job is to earn the tip goal shown at the top of the screen before the clock runs out.

• Read the order: a hungry fan waves both hands and shows a bubble. A hot dog bubble lists its toppings as colored dots: yellow for mustard, red for ketchup, green for relish, white for onions and brown for chili. No dots means a plain dog. Later innings add sodas and soft pretzels. The bar under the bubble shows how long the fan will wait before giving up.
• Build it on the tray: tap Bun, then Sausage, then each topping, then Wrap. Toppings only go on after the sausage, and you can’t add more once the dog is wrapped. A soda or a pretzel is ready with a single tap. The ticket on the left of the tray spells out the selected order.
• Walk the aisle: tap a fan to select their ticket and walk below their seat, or use the arrow keys.
• Toss it: drag back on the stands and let go, like a slingshot. The further you pull, the harder you throw. A dotted arc shows the flight. The toss sails past lower rows on the way up, and the fan whose hands it drops onto catches it.

Tips and scoring

• Correct order: a hot dog is worth $3 plus $1 for each topping. A soda is $2 and a pretzel is $3. A fast delivery adds up to $3 more, depending on how much patience the fan had left.
• Streaks: every correct catch in a row adds a $1 bonus to the next one, up to $3. A wrong order, a neighbor catch, a drop or a fan who gives up resets the streak.
• Wrong order: if the fan who catches it ordered something else, they keep it and pay $1, and their order is closed.
• Neighbor catch: a toss that misses can be grabbed by another fan nearby. If they weren’t ordering, they pay $1 and the real customer is still waiting.

Reach the goal to unlock the next inning. Earning 1.3 times the goal gives two stars, and 1.6 times the goal gives three. Your stars, best tips and unlocked innings are saved in your browser.

The nine innings

The crowd grows every inning and fans run out of patience sooner. Inning 1 serves plain, mustard and ketchup dogs to the first three rows. Relish and two-topping orders arrive in inning 2. Sodas, onions and row 4 open up in inning 3, chili and three-topping orders in inning 4, and soft pretzels and the top row in inning 5. From inning 6 the wind blows. A flag in the top-right corner shows its direction and strength, and the arc preview does not include it, so aim upwind. It grows stronger each inning, changes direction mid-inning and turns gusty in the ninth.

Tips

• Walk first, then build. Tap the fan to start walking and build the order while the vendor moves.
• Peak just above the row. The best toss tops out a little above the fan’s raised hands. Too much power sends it over their head into the row behind.
• Pick orders you can finish. A three-topping dog takes longer to build than a soda, so serve the quick orders when a bubble’s bar is nearly empty.
