Ninja Climb is a one-tap ninja game about climbing a tower that never ends. Your ninja clings to one of two stone walls and leaps across to the other each time you tap, dodging spikes, falling shuriken and guards on the way up. You can play Ninja Climb online free right here, in your browser, with no download or sign-up. It works with a keyboard or mouse on a computer and with taps on a phone or tablet.
How to play
Your ninja climbs on their own, so the whole game is about choosing the right moment to switch walls. Your score is the height you reach in metres, shown at the top of the screen, and your best height is saved in your browser so there is always a number to beat. A dashed green line marks your best height on the tower, so you can see when you are about to pass it.
- Jump: tap the game, click, or press Space (Up, W and the arrow keys work too). Your ninja leaps from the wall you are on to the opposite wall.
- Slash: press again while you are in mid-air. Your ninja dashes the rest of the way across with a sword slash. You get one slash per leap.
- Pause: P or Esc. The game also pauses by itself if you switch tabs.
The climb starts slowly and speeds up gradually the higher you get, so a run that feels relaxed at 50 metres asks for much quicker reactions a few hundred metres later.
What is on the tower
- Spikes line stretches of either wall. Touching them while you cling to that wall ends the run, and your slash can’t break them. The only answer is to be on the other wall when they pass.
- Guards in red patrol up and down a section of wall. Running into one ends the run, but a slash that reaches a guard destroys it.
- Shuriken fall from above, spinning down a wall or through the middle of the shaft. A red arrow at the top of the screen shows where one is about to drop. Move out of its path or slash it out of the air.
- Gold coins sit along the walls and in arcs across the gap. Some are only reachable by jumping at the right moment.
- Scrolls are rarer. Grab one and you get a shield that absorbs one hit from a guard, shuriken or spikes.
When the run ends, the game-over screen shows your height, your best, your coins and how many guards and shuriken you slashed. Tap, press Space or hit Play Again to climb again.
Tips
- Read the wall ahead, not your ninja. Hazards come down from the top of the screen. Spot spikes early and you can switch sides calmly instead of in a panic.
- Jump late, but not too late. A leap takes a moment, and you are briefly close to both walls at the start and the end. Switching just as a stretch of spikes on the far wall passes is the cleanest move.
- Save the slash for guards. If a guard is waiting where you will land, slash on the way across. Slashing early wastes it, and you only get one per leap.
- Slashing also speeds up the leap. That can rescue a late jump, but it can also carry you into spikes sooner, so use it with care near spiked walls.
- Watch for the red arrows. A shuriken falling down your wall is easy to avoid if you jump as soon as the warning appears.
- Treat a scroll as a spare life. With a shield up you can take one risk, but it only covers a single hit.
FAQ
Is Ninja Climb free to play?
Yes. It’s completely free, with no account, no download and no install. Open the page and tap or press Space to start.
Can I play this ninja game on a phone or Chromebook?
Yes. On a touch screen, every tap on the game is a jump, and a tap in mid-air is a slash, so you can play with one thumb. On a Chromebook, Mac or Windows laptop it runs in any modern browser with the keyboard or mouse.
How is the score worked out?
Your score is the height you climbed, in metres. Coins are counted separately and don’t change your height score.
Is my best score saved?
Your best height is stored in your browser on that device. Clearing your browser data or switching devices resets it.
What can the slash destroy?
Guards and shuriken. Spikes are part of the wall, so a slash won’t help you there.
