Fighting Game is a cartoon dino push-out brawler. Instead of knocking anyone down, you bop, shove and ground-pound your rival off a floating arena, sumo style. Play this fighting game online free in your browser, with no download or sign-up, against the computer, through a six-fighter arcade ladder, or with a friend on the same keyboard or phone.
How to play
Each round starts with both dinos on a floating platform. Push the other dino off the edge, out past the side or down below the arena, and you win the round with a ring-out. Win two rounds out of three (or three out of five, if you pick the longer match) to win.
- Bop is a quick, short-range pillow hit. It comes out fast and adds 6% wobble.
- Shove is the big push. Hold the button to charge it for close to a second, then let go. A full charge hits much harder and adds 17% wobble, but it is slow and easy to see coming.
- Ground pound: press down while you are in the air to drop straight down. When you land, a shockwave pops nearby rivals up and away.
- Block stops all wobble damage from the front. Every blocked hit costs stamina, and holding block drains it slowly. If the bar empties, your guard breaks and you are stunned for a moment.
- Dodge-roll: press block with a direction to roll. For most of the roll you can’t be hit, so attacks pass straight through you.
- Jump twice: one jump from the ground and one more in the air. Save the second one for getting back to the arena.
Wobble %: every hit raises the target’s wobble meter. Knockback grows with wobble and shrinks with weight, so a dino on 120% flies far further from the same shove than one on 10%. Wobble resets at the start of each round. If the 60-second round clock runs out, the dino with the lower wobble wins the round.
Fighters and arenas
There are six original dinos. Chompy is the all-rounder. Trixie and Spike are heavy and hard to move. Lou is the heaviest, with the longest reach but slow feet. Zippy is the fastest and lightest, so it flies far. Skye jumps highest but is also light. Heavier fighters take more hits to ring out, while light, quick ones are better at getting in and out of range.
The four arenas each change how you play. Shrinking Mesa gets narrower as the round goes on. Seesaw Peak tilts toward whichever side the dinos stand on, so you slowly slide toward the low edge. Drift Isles has a small main platform and two side platforms that drift up and down, which you can land on and ride. Frosty Floe is slippery ice: you keep sliding after you let go.
Game modes
Arcade sends your chosen dino through all six fighters in turn, starting on Easy and ending on Hard, across all four arenas. Your ladder progress and best stage are saved in your browser, and beating stage six makes that dino a champion. vs CPU lets you pick the rival, arena and CPU level: Easy reacts slowly and rarely blocks, Normal spaces itself and punishes some mistakes, and Hard blocks, punishes and waits at the ledge to stop you getting back. 2 Players puts both players on one keyboard, or on a phone with a set of touch buttons for each side.
Tips
- Build wobble with bops, finish with a shove. Quick bops are hard to punish. Once the meter is high, one charged shove near the edge ends the round.
- Don’t charge in the open. A long charge is easy to block or roll through. Charge when your rival is stuck in a recovery or a guard break.
- Fight for the middle. The closer you are to the edge, the less wobble it takes to push you out.
- Watch your stamina. Blocking a charged shove costs a lot. If the bar is low, roll away instead.
- Come back low and late. When you are off stage, keep your air jump until you are close, so the rival has less time to bop you away.
FAQ
Is this fighting game free?
Yes. It is free with no account and no install, and it runs on desktop, Chromebook, tablet and phone browsers.
Can two people play on one computer?
Yes. Choose 2 Players. Player 1 uses WASD with F, G and H, and Player 2 uses the arrow keys with J, K and L. On a phone or tablet each player gets their own set of buttons under the arena.
Is it violent?
No. The dinos swing soft pillows and shove each other off a platform. Nobody gets hurt; they just get dizzy and fall out of the ring.
How do I get better at beating the Hard CPU?
Hard blocks most slow attacks, so mix fast bops with changes in timing, punish its recovery after a whiff, and avoid hanging near the edge where it waits for you.
Is my progress saved?
Your settings, arcade ladder stage, best ladder result and champion dinos are saved in your browser on this device.
