This free fancy text generator turns whatever you type into 45 styles you can copy and paste: bold, italic, cursive script, gothic fraktur, double-struck, monospace, bubble letters, squares, small caps, tiny superscript, upside down text, mirror and reverse text, strikethrough, underline, a mild glitch effect and decorative frames. It is often called a font generator, but every style is really built from Unicode characters, which is why it still looks styled after you paste it into a profile, game name or chat.
How to use the fancy text generator
- Type or paste your text in the box at the top. All 45 styles update as you type, up to 500 characters.
- Tap or click a style to copy it. A short “Copied” message confirms it, and the style is added to the Recent tab.
- Paste it wherever you want the styled text to appear.
Tap the star next to a style to save it to Favorites. Your text, favorites and last 12 copies are saved in this browser. With a keyboard, Tab to a style and press Enter to copy it.
What each group of styles does
- Bold and italic: 13 styles from the Unicode Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block, including bold, italic, script, fraktur, double-struck, sans-serif and monospace. A few letters, such as the italic h and the script B, E and H, were already part of the older Letterlike Symbols block, so Unicode leaves gaps in the math block for them. The tool uses the correct older characters for those letters. Only bold, double-struck, sans-serif, sans bold and monospace have digits, so numbers stay plain in the other styles.
- Bubbles and boxes: circled bubble letters, black circled letters, squared and black squared letters, parenthesized letters, plus a ring or box drawn around each character with combining marks. The black circled and squared styles only exist as capital letters.
- Small and wide: small caps, superscript, subscript, fullwidth (often called vaporwave text), spaced out letters and stars between letters.
- Flip and reverse: upside down text, mirror writing, reverse text, reverse each word and reverse word order.
- Lines and glitch: strikethrough, slashed, tilde strike, underline, double underline, overline, crossed above and a mild glitch style.
- Frames: six decorative borders such as wings, sparkles and arrows.
Gaps and honest limits
Unicode does not have a styled version of every letter. There is no superscript capital C, F, Q, S, X, Y or Z, and no small capital X. Subscript letters exist for only 17 lowercase letters. When a letter has no match, the tool leaves it unchanged and says so under that style, rather than swapping in a look-alike from another alphabet. The small capital Q is a newer character, so some fonts show a box instead. Upside down text uses rotated look-alike characters from several Unicode blocks, and the whole line is reversed so it reads correctly when turned over. Flipping it a second time gives back the original.
Some apps and fonts do not include every character, so you may see empty boxes on older phones or in some games. Black squared A, B, O and P can show as colored emoji on some phones.
Accessibility
Styled letters are different characters, not decorated ones. Screen readers may spell them out one by one, read them as math symbols or skip them, and search boxes may not find them. Keep names, links and anything important in plain text.
Turning fancy text back into plain text
Paste styled text into the Plain text tab to get ordinary letters back. Many styles are undone with Unicode compatibility normalization (NFKC), and the rest, such as upside down, small caps and glitch marks, are undone with lookup tables. Reversed text and spaced letters cannot be detected, so run Reverse on them again instead.
Tips
- Short text looks best: a name or a few words in script or bold.
- Check the result where you paste it. If you see boxes, try the bold or sans bold styles, which most devices can show.
FAQ
Is this a real font generator?
Not exactly. It does not install or change a font. It swaps each letter for a Unicode character that already looks bold, curly or circled, so the style travels with the text when you copy it.
Why do some letters stay plain?
Because Unicode has no styled version of them. Instead of guessing, the tool leaves those letters unchanged and lists them under the style.
Why does the glitch style look so mild?
Heavy glitch text piles dozens of marks on each letter and can cover nearby lines, so this tool adds at most two.
