Flying Disc

Flying Disc is a frisbee game with three ways to play: a 9-hole disc golf park, a dog catch contest with your dino dog, and passing drills where you lead moving teammates. The disc curves with its release angle, drifts in the wind and fades left as it slows. You can play it online free in your browser with no download, using a mouse, a keyboard or a phone’s touch screen.

How to throw

Press anywhere on the field, drag back like a slingshot and let go. The disc flies the opposite way to your drag, and a longer drag throws harder. A dotted line shows the start of the flight, and the yellow bar shows your power. On a keyboard, the Left and Right arrows aim, Up and Down set the power, and Space or Enter throws.

Before you throw, choose the release angle with the Hyzer and Anhyzer buttons or the Q and E keys. The middle button resets it to flat.

• Flat: the disc flies fairly straight, then fades left near the end of its flight.
• Hyzer: the disc curves left for the whole flight. Hyzer 2 bends it harder.
• Anhyzer: the disc turns right while it is fast, then fades back left as it slows. Anhyzer 2 turns it further.
• Wind: the arrow at the top right shows the wind, which pushes the disc sideways while it is in the air.

Disc golf

Disc golf works like golf with a flying disc: you throw from the tee toward a metal basket and count every throw until the disc lands in the chains. The nine holes include par 4 doglegs, a lake to carry, an island basket and a creek.

• Trees: a disc that hits a tree drops next to it, and you play from there.
• Water and out of bounds: landing in water or off the course adds a penalty throw, and you throw again from where you were.
• The basket: a disc that reaches the chains at the right height goes in. A fast drive that hits the basket can bounce off.
• Putting: inside the dashed 12 m circle you putt. The putt flies a short, lofted arc, and the yellow ring marks your target distance.

A hole ends after 10 throws if the disc is not in. After nine holes you get a scorecard. Three stars need 3 under par, two stars need par or better, and one star needs a round within 6 over par.

Dog catch

Your dino dog sets off as soon as you let go and runs under the disc. Drag back and up to set how high you throw: a flatter throw goes further, a higher one hangs longer. You get five discs per round.

When the disc comes down, tap the field, press Space or use the Jump button to make the dog jump. A catch is worth its distance in meters. Catching it in the air doubles the points, and catching it at the top of a big jump triples them. If the disc hits the ground, or flies further than the dog can run, it scores nothing.

Passing drills

Teammates sprint their cuts, and you have a few seconds to hit them before the cut is over. A catch scores 30 points plus the throw’s distance, and leading the receiver so they catch the disc in stride adds 40 more.

• Deep Cuts: one receiver runs long, with no wind.
• Two Cutters: two receivers cross the field, with wind.
• Beat the Mark: the receiver comes back toward you, then breaks to one side with a defender a step behind. A throw that arrives behind the receiver can be blocked.

Tips

• Aim right of the target on long flat throws. The fade at the end pulls the disc back left.
• Bend around trees. Use hyzer when the open path curves left and anhyzer when it curves right.
• Don’t jump too early in dog catch. Wait until the disc is dropping toward your dog, then jump.

Is this frisbee game free?

Yes. There is no account and nothing to install.

Does it work on phones?

Yes. Drag back on the field to throw and tap to make the dog jump. The game area won’t scroll the page while you play.

Can I pause?

Press P or Esc, or use the pause button. The game also pauses if you switch tabs.

Are my scores saved?

Your best golf round, the throws on each hole, your best dog catch score, your best score in each drill and your stars are all saved in your browser.
