Helicopter Game gives you two ways to fly. Classic Cave is the one-button cave flyer: hold to climb, let go to drop, and see how far you can get through an endless tunnel of rock. Rescue Missions puts you in a side-view helicopter with real momentum and wind, where you winch stranded hikers off hillsides and fly them back to the helipad. You can play this helicopter game online free in your browser with no download, using a mouse, a keyboard or a touch screen.

How to play Classic Cave

Your helicopter flies forward on its own. All you control is height.

  • Hold to rise, release to fall: hold the mouse button, your finger, Space or the Up arrow and the rotor pulls you up. Let go and gravity takes over. The helicopter carries its speed, so short taps work better than long holds.
  • Stay off the walls: the cave ceiling and floor wind up and down. Touching either one is a crash.
  • Dodge the rock blocks: after the first stretch, rock blocks hang in the middle of the tunnel. Each one leaves an open lane above or below it. Look ahead and start moving toward the open side early.
  • It gets harder: the cave slowly narrows over the first 2,400 m and the scrolling speed keeps rising until nearly 5,000 m.

Your score is the distance you fly in meters. Your best distance is saved in your browser.

How to play Rescue Missions

Each mission starts on the helipad, marked with a yellow H. Hikers wave from the hills under a HELP sign, and when the next one is off screen, a red arrow at the edge points the way.

  • Fly the helicopter: push up (Up or W) to climb and down (Down or S) to descend. With neither pressed, the helicopter holds its height. Tilt left or right (Left/Right or A/D) to fly sideways. It keeps drifting after you level out, so ease off early.
  • Winch a hiker: hover directly over a hiker, low enough for the rope to reach, then press Space, E or the WINCH button. The rope only works while you hold steady. If you drift or bounce, the progress bar falls back until you settle again. It takes under two seconds of steady hovering to lift someone aboard.
  • Deliver them: you have two seats. Land slowly and level on the helipad to drop off everyone aboard, then head back out for the rest.
  • Watch the fuel: the fuel gauge drains faster while you climb. If it runs dry, the engine cuts out and the helicopter drops.

Hitting a hillside or coming down too hard, too fast or tilted is a crash. Clear a mission with 40% or more fuel left for three stars, or 20% for two. Any clear earns one star and unlocks the next mission. Your stars are saved in your browser.

The 10 missions

Early missions are calm, with one or two hikers. Later ones add ridges, a hiker on a high ledge, a narrow canyon, a pad in the middle of the map and stronger wind. The wind gauge in the top-right corner shows which way it is pushing, and gusts come and go while you hover.

Tips

  • Cave: tap, don’t hold. Long holds build up a lot of upward speed that takes time to stop. Quick taps keep you level.
  • Cave: commit early. When you see a rock block, choose its open side straight away. Switching late is how most runs end.
  • Rescue: climb before you cruise. Gain height first, then tilt toward the next hiker. Flying low into a slope ends the mission.
  • Rescue: lean into the wind. In gusty missions, hold a slight tilt toward the wind while you hover so you don’t drift off the hiker.

FAQ

Is Helicopter Game free?

Yes. It is free to play with no account and nothing to install.

Does it work on phones and Chromebooks?

Yes. On a phone or tablet, hold anywhere on the cave to fly, and use the on-screen stick and WINCH button in Rescue Missions. Touching the game doesn’t scroll the page. On a Chromebook or laptop, use the mouse or the keyboard in any modern browser.

Can I pause?

Press P or Esc, or use the Pause button. The game also pauses if you switch tabs.

Is the cave always possible to get through?

Yes. The cave is generated as you fly, but every section, including every rock block, leaves an open gap with room to spare for the helicopter.

How is this different from other flying games?

The cave mode is a one-button game like Flappy Bird, but with smooth hold-to-climb lift instead of flaps. If you want proper flight with takeoffs, landings and stalls, try Plane Pilot, which flies a small propeller plane between runways.
