Anatomy Game is a human body game. Place the major organs on a body outline, switch between six body system layers, follow the journeys of food, air and blood in order, then test yourself in a timed label quiz. Play the anatomy game free online in your browser, with no download or sign-up.

How to play

Four tabs at the top switch between the activities. Every diagram is a front view, so the body’s left side appears on your right, just like a person facing you.

  • Organs. Drag each of the 11 organs from the tray onto the body: brain, lungs, heart, liver, stomach, spleen, pancreas, kidneys, small intestine, large intestine and bladder. You can also tap an organ and then tap its spot. A correct drop locks the organ in place and shows a one-line fact about it. Dropping it on another organ’s spot counts as a wrong drop and sends it back to the tray.
  • Systems. Pick a layer: skeletal, muscular, circulatory, respiratory, digestive or nervous. Tap each numbered dot to name that part and read a short fact, such as the femur being the longest bone or the alveoli being tiny air sacs.
  • Journeys. Tap the stops in the right order. Food goes from the mouth to the esophagus, stomach, small intestine and large intestine. A breath goes from the nose or mouth to the trachea, bronchi, lungs and alveoli. Blood travels from the body veins through the right side of the heart to the lungs, then back through the left side and out the aorta.
  • Quiz. Three timed rounds of 10 questions with 60 seconds on the clock: name the circled organ, name the circled bone, muscle or tube, then answer quick body facts. Pick from four answers by tapping or pressing 1 to 4.

Stars and progress

There are 30 stars to collect. Each organ round (Guided with faint outlines, and Expert with none) gives 3 stars for no wrong drops, 2 for one or two, and 1 otherwise. Exploring every part of a body system layer earns 1 star per layer. Each journey gives 3 stars with no mistakes. In the quiz, 9 or 10 correct earns 3 stars, 7 or 8 earns 2, and 5 or 6 earns 1. Score under 5, or run out of time with too few right answers, and the round ends without a star so you can try again. Your stars, explored parts and best quiz scores are saved in your browser.

Tips

  • Start with the big landmarks. Place the brain, lungs and bladder first. They frame the top and bottom of the body and make the crowded belly easier to fill in.
  • Remember the sides. The heart sits between the lungs, slightly to the body’s left. The liver is on the body’s right, tucked under the ribs. The stomach and spleen are on the left.
  • Use the faint ribs. The rib outlines show where the chest ends. The liver, stomach and spleen sit just under the lower ribs; the intestines sit below them.
  • Explore before the quiz. Every part in the quiz’s second round appears as a numbered dot in the Systems tab, so touring the layers first is the best practice.

FAQ

Is the Anatomy Game free?

Yes. It is free to play with no account and no install. It runs in any modern browser, including on Chromebooks and phones.

Is it good for students?

It is built as a simple learning game. The facts are short and basic, like the heart having four chambers, red blood cells carrying oxygen, the small intestine absorbing most nutrients, adults having 206 bones and the skin being the largest organ. It is a study aid, not medical advice.

Why is the heart on the right side of the screen?

The body is shown from the front, as if the person is facing you. Their left side is on your right, so the heart, which sits slightly to the body’s left, appears a little right of center on screen.

Can I play with a keyboard?

Yes. In Organs, Left and Right pick an organ, Up and Down move a ring between the spots, and Enter drops it. In Systems, Left and Right step through the parts and Up and Down switch layers. Number keys tap journey steps and quiz answers, and R restarts.

How is this different from the Skeleton Game?

The Skeleton Game is all about rebuilding a skeleton bone by bone before midnight. Anatomy Game covers the whole body: organs, six systems, how food, air and blood move, and a timed quiz.
